career
August Maturo began his career as a cameo guest star on the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017, playing the role of Auggie Matthews. He then gained further fame by playing the role of Daniel in the 2018 horror film The Nun, a spin-off of The Conjuring 2.
He was in Budapest filming the 2019 film “Shepherd: The Story of a Jewish Dog.” In the film, set during World War II, Maturo’s character is separated from his family and reunited with his German Shepherd in a war camp. The film is an adaptation of Asher Kravitz’s “The Jewish Dog” and was shown at film festivals in 2021.
Maturo completed the feature film Slapface and the short film Boys, both in 2020. He played Lucas in Slapface and won Best Actor at Grimfest 2021. The Boys, directed by Luke Benward, premiered at LA Shorts in 2021.
